POLK STABLES

You're doing good work. Real work. But you're doing it alone, and you feel it — in the slow days, the stalled decisions, the sense that you're spinning without gaining ground. The problem isn't your idea. It'sthe room you're in.

Modern rustic conference room with wooden tables, gray chairs, exposed brick walls, industrial ceiling, and colorful vintage signs.

More Than a Desk. A Collective.

Polk Stables is a curated collective of entrepreneurs, leaders, and non profits working out of one of Indianapolis's most storied buildings. The space is the vessel — the people and the dense network they form together are the product. Think of it less like a coworking space and more likea guild: people who show up with intention, hold each other to a higher standard, and make each other's work stronger. The building itself has been doing that work since 1888, and we intend to keep that going.

Pillars

Built Around Three Things That Actually Move Work Forward

Imagination

The best work starts before the work starts — in the space where you let yourself think bigger. At Polk Stables, you're surrounded by people solving hard problems, which has a way of expanding what you believe is possible for your own. Imagination isn't a soft idea here. It's what gets built into everything we do.

Formation

You don't just get a desk — you get proximity to people who stretch you. Formation happens through development opportunities, the right introduction in the space, the right conversation in the hallway, the right room at the right moment. The collective is structured so that those moments happen by design, not by accident.

Community

Indianapolis has serious talent. Most of it is scattered. Polk Stables is where it gathers — not to network in the transactional sense, but to do the kind of work that's better when other strong people are in the room. When the right people are in the same place, the city gets stronger too. That's the point.

At 16th and the Monon. In the Heart of Indianapolis.

Polk Stables sits at 16th Street and the Monon Trail, at the edge of the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood and within reach of downtown Indianapolis — close enough to the city's center to matter, rooted enough in the corridor to mean something. The building is the last remaining structurefrom the Polk Sanitary Milk Company, built in 1888 — and the fact that it'sstill standing, still working, still useful, is not lost on us. Easy to get toby car, bike, or trail; parking is available on-site; and walk-ins are welcome for tours any time we're open.

What Members Say

I came to Polk because I needed a desk. I stayed because of the people. Within two months, I'd been introduced to three collaborators I never would have found on my own. That's not a coincidence —that's what the collective does.

I've worked out of a lot of spaces inIndianapolis. Polk is different. There's a seriousness here — people are building real things — and it pulls the best out of you just by being in the room.

As a nonprofit leader, I didn't think acoworking space would feel relevant to my work. Polk changed that. The connections I've made here have directly advanced our mission. This is what community is supposed to look like.
